Allvideos Plugin is very good to show videos. Now, I have a good idea to enhance this plugin: is it possible to display Subtitle for the video on the player?

We can make standard text format Subtitle file, such as .srt or .ass format. Then we name the subtitle file with the same name of the video file and put it in the same folder where the video file hosted.

Next, when viewing the video at frontend with Allvideos Plugin, this plugin can automatically display those texts in the subtitle file at the bottom of the video screen.

This is very useful to add text annotation for videos.

Further improvement suggestion:

If the author can add above feature, I hope you can improve it further to display subtitles in different languages.

For example, we have a video file named joomlagate.flv, then we make Chinese subtitle file named joomlagate_zh-CN.srt, we also make an English version of the subtitle and named it as joomlagate_en-GB.srt.

At frontend, we need add a dropdown list on the video player window for visitors to choose the language version of the subtitle file.

Or, if the website has JoomFish installed, then we can let the player pick up the correctly language version of subtitle according to the current site language selection by the visitor.

Thanks.

Yes, i was googling a bit whether if this is possible or not (so i reached here). It will be very nice to have the allvideos dealing with .SRT files! Even a integration with Joomfish will be fabolous!!! I'm very happy with this plugin on my website: www.wydevelopment.eu but have these problems:

- Integration with Flexicontent does not work at all (www.flexicontent.org/)
- SRT File's aren´t recognized (this topic)
- OGV (i think) it's unsupported yet

By the way, this is a very good plugin so i like to thank all the team behind it for allow us to use it! ;)
