I have a website that is getting penalized on the Google Insights Pagespeed scores because of too many render block JavaScript files. I am using this extension on a number of websites all of which are running JCH Optimize but I was wondering if all of these JavaScript files are required for a youtube video embed? I thought youtube had their own scripts and these would not be needed.

I have disabled this extension and we get a score increase of almost 15 points.

Is it possible to turn these off?

I am running Joomla 3.8.2 and AllVideos 4.8.0

Which video formats are you using?
Without most of these scripts the plugin will not work properly.

I am experiencing the same problem, and it has two interrelated reasons as far as I can see:

1. The scripts are not marked as "deferred" (even though they appear to be working that way too).

2. The scripts are inserted in a way that makes JCH include them as separate, non-deferred scripts.

There is also a second, related problem: the scripts are not minified.

I would propose the following fix for the developers:

(a) minify the scripts using a standard tool; and

(b) add an option to have the scripts marked as "deferred."

all of our videos are from youtube.

Are all of these scripts even necessary use us e a youtube video? I know that they have their own scripts that load with the embed code.
