Any way to use AllVideos without YT cookies in compliance with upcoming GDPR?

We've been happily using AllVideos for embedding YouTube videos, but must now have a site in compliance with GDPR in the next couple weeks. That means we can't allow YT cookies if a visitor has declined cookies.

Is AllVideos (or will it be) updated to allow this and be GDPR compliant? Sure hoping it can be used!

Hello,

The only way would be via a content plugin which replaces all embeds with youtube-nocookie.com
However this plugin will also have to have access to the user's settings.

I did a little work on this and see that in the current version of AllVideos on our client's site (v4.8.0), there is an option under Global Parameters named: Enable YouTube privacy-enhanced mode: No Yes

The ToolTip says that using this option "YouTube will not store information about visitors on your web page unless they play the video."

On our client's EU site, we are also using an EU e-Privacy plugin that shows up when someone first visits the site, notifies them about cookies, and turns off Joomla cookies for people who decline cookies (or they can accept cookies). When loading a page with an AllVideos YouTube embedded video (with the AllVideos privacy option on and cookies declined), it does list a cookie from youtube-nocookie.com, but it has no data in it (thus technically no cookie????). In the Local Storage pane of the Developer Tools, it does also list a youtube-nocookie.com item with some data shown:
=======
{data: "[]", expiration: 1526582169982, creation: 1526495769982}
creation
:
1526495769982
data
:
"[]"
expiration
:
1526582169982
=========

Does this then mean that there are no YT cookies at this point (in compliance with GDPR)?

Also, once I play the video (with the Decline Cookies still on), I don't see any difference in the data in the Cookies item (no data shows). The Local Storage item changes and adds an item called "yt-player-bandwidth". But the Cookie item has no data showing in it.

Other info: On this site, there are never any "users" logged in. All just visitors. And the only concern is that if they visit and Decline Cookies (using the EU_Privacy plugin), and we're using AllVideos privacy mode, are we indeed not getting a technical YT cookie?

Any help appreciated. Trying to prep for GDPR is a real pain. And while we design websites using complex templates, we are not "cookie" or coding experts! Thanks.

Hello,

Unfortunately youtube-nocookie is the only alternative that YouTube offers.
I am pretty sure that if it passes YT's and Google's privacy standards (that cookie) you will be GDPR compliant.
