Hi,

I have problem using Allvideos module for Joomla with firewall.
When I have content filter enabled on my firewall the window with player is not visible (only space is reserved on page).
When I turn off content filtering the module works fine.
I'm trying mp4 files.
Can you please tell me which urls or ip address do I have to exclude from filtering ?

Waldemar

If the "firewall" you mention strips all script tags, then the video player is effectively killed. I'm pretty sure there's some option to keep any benefits of your "firewall" while still allowing script tags on your pages (e.g. via AllVideos or other extensions).

Hi,

thanks for your replay.
This firewall is SonicWall. It doesn't block scripts. The problem is that if the feature CFS (Content Filter Service) is enabled it blocks outgoing traffic to disallowed ip addresses and then player isn't displayed. I had catched some address and added it to exception list and it started to work but I noticed that after some time the address changed and it stoped working again. If I only knew to which sites it is trying to make connection I could configure properly exception list. I don't know other solutions :-(

You can't add IPs in an exception list, you should probably add domains if possible. That's because YouTube and any other video site are behind CDNs that may range to thousands of IPs or simply have floating IPs.

You are right. I have passibility to add either ip addresses or domains. Of course, I would prefer to add domains, but I don't know which.
It's strange for me that player needs to make some external connections when mp4 file I'm trying to play is hosted locally on my joomla server. Joomla server is in my LAN not Internet.

AllVideos loads some JS files from an external CDN (for performance reasons). Should be easy to spot these and exclude them, along with youtube.com etc.
