Black initial (thumbnail) screen was created by Mike
Folks,
AllVideos is working fine for me, except for a little thing.
I have a video on my local server. When I load the article page, I see a black screen with the white video play triangle....
Once clicked, it all works fine. (image attached )

How can I get the page to display the initial frame of the video on first load, or alternatively, a thumbnail.... anything except the black square.
thanks,
Mike

The current version supports using a .jpg image with the same name as the video file as "poster" image.

The good news is that AllVideos v5 which I'm currently working on and may be released by Friday the earliest, but surely next week, will utilize native HTML5 playback, including automated "poster" images for HTML5 native media (mp4, webm etc.).

So keep an eye on this site or our social media accounts for the AllVideos update coming in the next few days.

Thanks Fotis...
I have version 4.8.0, which I think is current.
I cant see where to include the JPG 'poster' image..
I have created a JPG with exactly the same name (caps etc), as the video, and put it in the same directory as the video. My video is called 'My_Vid_1st.mp4', and the JPG is of course, 'My_Vid_1st.jpg'
Still shows a black screen.
How do I link the .jpg file to the video?
thanks,
Mike

The poster image will appear automatically if you place it in the same folder as your video. Also make sure you've cleaned your Joomla site's cache. A URL to the video page would help in any case...
