Directory location outside web root was created by Dan'l Hull
I have AllVideos installed and working great on a small, private site for family members. One of the things that people wanted to do was to share videos... but not have them accessible to non-registered visitors. Some parents are understandably nervous about having their kids visible to the whole world. I can easily set up the pages for "registered" level permissions in Joomla, but that doesn't prevent access to the videos by anyone who knows or who can guess the URL.

What I'd like to do is to move the directory with the videos in it up a level from /var/www/family/videos to /var/www/videos so that it's outside the set of directories Apache will serve. Then I'd like to configure AllVideos to access the videos from that location. However, it doesn't seem possible to choose a directory "above" the Joomla root (in my case /var/www/family)

Any possibility I'm just overlooking something to get this to work?
