I am new to Joomla 1.5.17.

How can a Joomla author, editor or publisher upload video using with media manager?
Media Manager only allows an admin to upload video.

Inside Media Manager, directories for AllVideo were created.

• images/stories/videos
• images/stories/audio

Please help.

I think that with the JCE Editor you can upload video files and audio to images/stories/etc, without having to be administrator.
You will have to use the Insert/Edit link, click the browser button right next to the URL and through there upload all files you want. You will have to search a little the parameters though to maybe increase the uploaded file size and check the permitted file types.

Joomla 1.5.17's new article editor does not allow upload of videos.

After clicking the image button, author can choose a file from media manager. There is no facility to upload a video from new article Joomla form. I see the insert link, but i there should be a way for an author to upload a video to Joomla's media manager directly. What do you think?

The image button is at bottom of form the first on from left.


The Add Video button, is second from right, is Kaltura plugin that is still being evaluated however.
