When a open the demo of Archetype on this site and a go to: Using K2 / Portfolio item,
i find al layout of pictures that can be opened in a lightbox/gallery.
I can't find this layout in my own installation (Joomla 3.x)
Is this a subtemplete choice in a K2 content module?
and if yes, how is it called/how do i set it up

This is the item's gallery. If you put a K2 Image Gallery in the items that belong to the Portfolio category this is how your gallery will show.
You will have to install SIG Pro (as it is stated in the documentation: nuevvo.com/documentation/commercial-templates/item/89-archetype) to work as your gallery extension.
