Whenever i place a module at the sidebar position on my takai template, the module seems to appears at the bottom of the inner right. I have been cracking my head for a while now and still haven't found a solution yet

I cannot verify this in the link you sent us.
I can see the slideshow extension is throwing error messages but I doubt that is the cause.

Finally you need to update to the template's latest version.
Make sure you use the update package so you won't lose any changes.

Sorry I mislead you, you need to download the entire template package and replace the index.php file as well.
Make sure you have donwloaded the 1.0.3 version.
