Hello!!
Frontpage Slideshow do not open in ie9. It shows only the loading circle.
I do not have problem with chrome and firefox.

First of all upgrade FPSS to the latest FPSS version. If the problem remains try to change the settings that concerns jquery library at FPSS module (right column).

yes we have tried all combinations and still doesn't work

This is a conflict with a module you use. I have disabled and now FPSS works just fine.
