Fatal error after activating Module was created by amselrehhase
Hi to the community,

I have some problems using the Frontpage Slideshow (for Joomla!).
Installation und configuration of component is fine.
But after activating the module I get a Fatal Error message:

Fatal error: Class 'FPSSHelperSlideshow' not found in /joomla1.5/modules/mod_fpss/mod_fpss.php on line 23

I use Joomla 1.5.23 and the  Frontpage Slideshow (for Joomla!) v3.0.2

I havent got the faintest idea what to do.
Can any body help?

best regards
marcus

Looks like the installation may not have gone through properly. Can you please try re-installing the extension package and let us know what happens?

If you're faced with permission issues (and thus the new package cannot write the new files into your site), please download the free "Admin Tools" from www.AkeebaBackup.com and use the "Fix/repair permissions" option it has to repair file permissions. After that, try re-installing the Frontpage Slideshow package.

Hi Fotis,
thank you for your reply.

I did all the things you said:
uninstalled the fpss component, installed the admin tools (very cool tools - thanks a lot for that tip)
fixed the permissions and reinstalled fpss.

But its still the same problem.
after activating the module I get the fatal error pointing to mod_fpss.php on line 23

line 23 looks like that:
"$slides = FPSSHelperSlideshow::render($params, 'module', $module->id);"
so for me it looks fine.
the permissions are 644 for mod_fpss.php and mod_fpss.xml

I did not get any erromessage after install and in the backend all seems to work fine.

Have you maybe another idea?

best regards
marcus

Hi Katia,
thanks for the help.

I tried the solution:
copied
jimport('joomla.application.component.model');
in /components/com_fpss/helpers/slideshow.php
that did not do anything.

So i tried the same in the file: modules/mod_fpss/mod_fpss.php that was mentioned in the Error message.
This made the page showing up again, no Error message anymore after activating the module.
BUT the slider does not work at all.
I mean nothing happens. The slider does not show up.

Do you have another hint?
thank you very much
best regards
Marcus

Have you created a slideshow already? If so, check that the module fetches the right slideshow in its settings...
