[SOLVED] k2 login form help please was created by martinique
my login isn't working. when captcha recaptcha is on, no captcha image displays. error: empyty solution not allowed. when its turned off (both as a plugin and within control panel) same error : "empty solution not allowed".....

suggestions??

K2 USERS & LOGIN WAS CONFLICTING WITH SITE GLOBAL LOGIN. DISABLED K2 USER, LOGIN AND OTHERS AND NOW IT WORKS. CAPTCHA CANNOT HAVE MULTIPLE INSTANCES OR ELSE IT GETS "STUCK"

Hi I encountered a similar problem and found the solution as follows:

The new version of Joomla - 2.5 has a captcha form element built in - which is great. However, if you install K2 (2.5.6) this also uses the same ReCaptcha element. Unless you get the settings just right the two will conflict in strange ways. In order for the system to work you need to

Disable the Captcha -ReCaptcha component in the Joomla Comonent Manager
Go to the User Manager and then to the Options (Users Configuration) and set Captcha to be "none selected"
Go to the K2 configuration and enable Captcha and enter your public and private keys.
If you don't do this, then both captcha's will be used but only one will be displayed (the K2 one I think) and you will get error messages similar to this:

"The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again."

Or if you disable just the K2 Captcha then you get this error message:

Empty solution not allowed.

There is no Captcha -ReCaptcha component in the Joomla Comonent Manager. Are you talking about Captcha -ReCaptcha Plugin in Plugin Manager??
If that is the case, recaptcha will not be available in other components Like Joomla's default Contact us form etc. Isn't it?? So what should be the perfect solution??????

Not solved!
I have done the steps... He obviously talks about the Captcha Joomla Plugin that needs to be disabled...
So, if you do all the steps, the registration works, BUT... it registers the user even if you don't type anything in the recaptcha field!!!!

Disregard my last message (I apologize...)
It's probably solved... I had an unpublished plugin (User - k2) which made me believe that this wasn't solved!
Sorry again...

Ted
