Hello,

After transferring the listings data i installed the IAKI plugin to get the images of the imported content.
getk2.org/extend/extensions/date/item/616-iaki-import-as-k2-image

But no image is appearing in the frontent.....
Do i miss something?
The id of the component is set, no custom URL's are given.

How does the plugin work? Does it retrieves the relative url from the jos_content table?

Jasper

I had the same trouble, couldn't figure out why it did not work...then I realized I didn't really pay attention to the plugins' options...

You have to define the upper limit of articles' IDs for which you want the plugin to work...
That is, given that you have just moved from Joomla article system to K2 and you have imported your joomla articles, up to a certain article ID number your articles must be Joomla articles, while new articles would be created with the default K2 system.
What you need to do is define the article ID of the most recent joomla-created article you have...so if before moving to K2 you had created 78 articles with joomla, normally your last joomla article will have the ID "78" (unless you had other articles which you deleted and trashed)....in that case you insert the number "78" in the appropriate fielf in the plugin's options...

If you have created new articles with K2, then you do not have to include their ID within the range you must define...

I have the following issue with IAKI:

My first K2 item IDs 0-548 are real K2 items.
From 549 until 1690 are Joomla imported content.
Up to 1691 are real K2 items again.

When I setup IAKI with K2 item ID (up to which we limit the import) = 1690.
The images until 548 are not displayed.

Is there an option in IAKI to do this right? e.g. K2 item ID = 549-1690

I'm still confused after reading all the forum posts I could on this matter. How do you use the plugin? I get what settings should be, but then how do you actually get the images to transfer after setting it up?

On the download page for the extension it says this is to be used after the import of articles. But how? There's no button or anything for it? I have tried enabling the plugin and then doing the import of Joomla articles, nothing. What's the deal with this thing?

I appreciate any help with it.

Cheers!

Yes,

Just add the latest item ID that has inline images, usually the latest item to be imported from Joomla!.

If you have a different folder for your images you can specify it in the fields bellow.

Thank you Krikor for your response! But I'm still a little confused, I have entered the article ID in the field " K2 item ID (up to which we limit the import)" but then what? There's not "process" or "import" button. It's just a plugin. I have tried doing this, saving, publishing, but nothing happens. How do you get the process to begin!?!!

Do your K2 items contain images? Also use the K2 item ID not the article ID.

Thank you for your help with this Krikor!

There are no K2 articles at the moment, I am using this plugin to transfer Joomla articles into K2. Th Joomla articles all have images within. I was under the assumption this plugin would grab the first image from the Joomla article and use it as the K2 image.

Still very confused on how this plugin operates.

Ohhhh I see how this plugin work now! It doesn't "import" the images into the K2 items in the backend, it just processes it in the frontend... okay, all working now. Very confusing but simple. Thanks for your help!

Hrrmmm, so I'm finding this solution for "importing" images into K2 not really helpful, it's more of a bandaid. The problem with it is if you want to use K2 with other extensions to display some of the articles in a slideshow or portfolio or something, you won't be able to because the images aren't really imported into the image field.

Anyone have any other ideas for importing/transferring Joomla article images into the display image field for K2?

Hello , After i trace this plugin code , i discover this plugin just assign image path( path of original image) to K2 image object in run time , in other word it does not create any copy of original image with other size (Xsmall , small , medium ...etc ) B)

Actually yes, the plugin assigns the first image as the K2 Image.
