I have used Joomla Search standard module in K2 and it seems to work (escept for extra fields).
Do you know if there is any problem to use it indeed of K2 search module? it seems better.
Let me know
Thank you

Hey, sorry for delayed response.
Basically, the K2 search, uses the Joomla search, so its no problem.
I always use the Joomla search module and not k2 search.
Regards,
Simon

Thank you.
Do you know if I search words with 3 character or text like "How to" the search result is empty?
Even if there are items with that words in the title or content

Three characters is the minimum specification by Joomla as I remember.
You should still be able to search with multiple words.
Which K2 and J! version are you running?

I know that 3 characters is the minimum but if I insert a word with 3 characters it doesn't work.
I use Joomla v. 1.5.15 and K2 v. 2.2

This is because the k2 search plugin, unlike joomla search, uses boolean mysql search ( dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/fulltext-boolean.html) which is restricted by the ft_min_word_len variable (dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/server-system-variables.html...) which has a default value of 4
The only way to change this is if you have access to my.cnf on the server where you can change the value of the ft_min_word_len to 3
You can then check the values in phpMyAdmin under "Show MySQL system variables"
