Can't change item ordering in K2 was created by dor hatav

helo i have problem i try to change the order of the items
for exmple in this page
dorisdesign.co.il/ronlightb/index.php/2012-08-12-11-51-59/blueron

i want the center inage (the wite 7 inch item) be in the right

i chande the order here

but he show me the order by id only its not work when i chane te order number

what to do?

and i put $ordering ='rdate'; after the lines he say but its stil not working..

Hi. First of all you do not need to hack the core K2 code to achieve this. So if you have done so, revert the changes. Secondly, you should let K2 know that you want to sort items by ordering. This can be done in K2 category edit page or in K2 menu links. It depends if you are viewing a menu link to a K2 category or you just navigated to the K2 category.

Well after some time on exploration arround the web to solve this problem, found 0.

The thing is, Went for item configuration placed "Ordering" on it, went for Category Configuration placed "Ordering" and yet can't change item ordering, if is there a solution just warn me. I need to finish this website soon.

try going to the item page in administrator
select the category you want to order in the category dropdown
click the column header where is says order and a save icon should appear
change the order and click the save icon

Actually the icon that should appear to save the order never did for me. Maybe it was lost in the latest build. I am using K2 v2.6.8 (Dev Build).

How you phrase things suggest that the icon to save infact sometimes does not appear. Any clues on what to do if it does not?

When you click on the up/down arrows on the first column when viewing the list of items the drag and drop option is enabled. That way you can change the ordering between items.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I have done that but the order I arrange the items is not saved. I feel like I have tried all the variations of refreshing the page and or clearing the cache and or not and nothing seems to save the order of the items.

Try to install K2 SVN again. Grab a new copy and check again.

….oh, just figured it out. I had luck with one category but the next one I tried I was unsuccessful. Just discovered that with that next Category I forgot to the choose "Sort by Order". Finally got the order I want. Glad infact it works. Seems to me this process should be a little more user friendly. First off I would name the Column "Order" and second I would love to see either as "save" icon or button appear if I do change the order.

I had some problem that I couldn't find the "Save" icon near the K2 item ordering column. Please see attached image.

How do I get this "Save" icon? Reinstall K2? or?

The person who asked this question seems got problem solved but he didn't mention he found the "Save" icon or he found some other trick to make ordering change successful.

There is no save icon for ordering in Joomla! 3.x. You just drag n drop the items.

Using the "ordering" option is not working with Joomla 3.3.4 and now I can't even get any other sorting to work.. totally stuck, cleared all cache

Which other elements are not behaving correclty?
Are the default articles working?
