I'm working with
Joomla 2.5.16 ( in a couple of day i'll upgrade to the 2.5.16)
K2 2.5.5.
I'm using sh404sef .
I'd like to customize my url in this way
sitename/topcategory/aliasarticle.html
Actually i got
sitename/topcategory/lastcategory/aliasarticle.html.

I've activated the advaced integration k2sh404sef but i can't to this (it does not work).
I need this custom url cause i'm migrating a site with 2000 item (j 1.5 without k2) and i need to avoid 2000 404 error and manually redirect.
here is the url of the beta site

Please update to K2's latest version.
(Your overrides might need some updating as well).

Chances are that the version of sh404sef are not compatible with earlier versions of K2.

've tried to upgrade k2 at the latest versione but, unfortunately, it does not work .
I've attached the screenshot of my upgrade.
It appears there are no possible solution for a url like sitename/maincategory/aliasitem.
It's a shame cause that structures it's so useful for google news.
Got any ideas?

Hi. Probably you need to purge the URLs cache through SH404SEF in order for the settings to take effect.

I've already purge the db many many times but it does not work.

Will you introduce this important feature in k2?

I've configured k2 for working with sef404 as sitename/top-level-category/alias i've purged the database url but
I've stil got double url for every item (k2 url & sef404 url )

- For every new item i have to purge the db (with a lot of 404 that penalised my site). If I do not, i got only the k2 url.

If I try to upgrade the extension, the back end does not show k2 category for modules.
So .. it's a mess.
Any solution?

We will mark this as a feature request for the future. Regarding the double URLs, since you are using SH404SEF this shouldn't occur. I would suggest to update SH404SEF and maybe ask at their forum. Of course if there is an issue with K2 we will fix it.

I too am facing with similar problem. I have last version and of sh404 and of K2.
Why there is not the option to select the top Category instead of the last category?

Is there any possibility to solve with some little hacking of the code?

K2 component has its own sh404sef plugin builtin, if there`s no option for what you want, I`m afraid you should ask on K2 support forums if they can provide you a custom work for their sh404sef plugin.
