cannot create new item - required fields loading..

When i try to edit or create an item I get the above message just below the published toggle.

I have no extra fields or extra field groups.
the database confirms this also.

any ideas?

There is a little more to this:

I do not get the issue on my local copy.
After discovering this issue, I looked in the K2 admin at the extra fields tabs but got a white page, this happened on the user groups tab, the extra fields tab and the extra fields group tabs.

googling the issue, i found a solution by renaming the file names in the com_k2/controllers folder to be all lowercase. Apparently as my hosting is linux and it doesn't like that.
This solved the issue with accessing the tabs in k2 admin but confirmed there is no exttra fields.

I created some extra fields to see if they loaded but they didn't.
Database confirms no extra fields in the extra fields rows and also in the item, there is no extra fields, just [].

I can't see any solution online to this.

I did import via phpmyadmin a lrage number of k2 items to save time when re-doing the site which worked and i have been able to update and create new items until now - this issue has only just started happening.

Hi. Ensure that you are using K2 2.6.8 and a supported Joomla! version.

It's 2.6.7 on joomla 2.5.18 and it was working just fine until recently (i didn't change any k2 files)

hi, i have just updated to the 2.6.8 k2 and it did resolve it.
I had previously checked in my extensions updates are to see if there was a new k2 but it reported northing.

I have spent a lot of time trying to resolve this issue and got very upset as i could not find a solution.
i can only assume this was something to do with upstream files having changed and causing this problem for me.

There are several K2 plugins

These are all core K2 plugins. Try to clear the search and select "k2" in the type list on the sidebar. If there are some plugins there try to disable them for a while. An other thing you can do is to check your browser console for errors. Is the message appearing when you click save or it is there when the page is loaded?

yes it is there when the Item is loaded (new)

There are no other plugins

This file should be loaded. Try to reinstall K2 again ( don't uninstall first ). Then clean your browser's cache.
