Different images for icon and main image was created by Moustakakis

Hello,

Is it possible to have different images for the main image (inside the article) and for icon image (in the category layout?

The problem is that the image which I load to the image tab it displays both as thumb in the category layout and in the main image in the article inside. How can I separate this two images?

Hi. You can't. You can only insert a different image in the editor and then tweak the settings so the one image is displayed in the list and the other one in the item page.

The problem is that the images does not have all the same dimensions. Also some of them are portrait and other landscape images. So if I load the original images as it is, in the category layout I don't have similar design.

Could you give me more details for this that you suggest me?

K2 creates 5 different image sizes foe each image you upload. You can define those image sizes in K2 parameters. Then in each view you can select which image size you want to be used. This means that you can even use the same image size in listings and item views. So if the issue is the image size, this is something that can be configured.

yes. It is the same image and the problem is only the image size/dimension.

How can I configure it?

You can find the relevant options to the category settings. Go to administration and click to edit the specific category. On the right side of the screen you will see options for listings, item view etc.

Yes, I know this.

But with this way I can't set up an image 140px*140px as a thumb and a landscape image as the main image inside the item. If I do that, the main image will be ok but the icon image will have lose the image proportions. Is there anything else that I can do. I think that only with two sources of images (one for icon and one for main image) the problem will be solved.

I am looking forward for your suggestions.

You cannot have two different image sources in K2. You need to either find a plugin for that or develop it on your own.

I would like to ask if it possible in the category view image thumb, instead one image to have a number of thumbs to slide?

You can c/p the image and change its source to manually retrieve a selected size.
To be more specific you have to change

<?php echo $this->item->image; ?>

in each instance to return a different size.
