K2 Search for K2 Titles only was created by goble
Hello,
am actually using 'K2 Search' module. Is there an option to search only k2 titles and prevent any other search (content etc...) ?
Thanks

Hello,
is it possible that it's I'm posting in the wrong place ? Since from what I have understood that K2 module use the joomla 'Smart Search' component.

Hi. It all depends on which search are you using. Joomla! provides tow ways for searching. The normal search and the smart search. In that cases you cannot change the results. You can only create an override to the component ( com_search or com_finder) and remove the text from being displayed. In addition to those searches K2 has it's own search. This is triggered when you use the K2 Tools - Search module. In that case you can control what will be displayed at the K2 parameters ( look out for the "Layout & view options for Search & Date listings" ).

Yes you are right,
am using the 'K2 Tools' (Module functionality: Search box) so I've disabled the following in plugin manager (since now I understand that K2 Tools will run on its own and do not require J! 'Smart search'):
- Content - Smart Search
- Smart Search - Content
- Search - Content
Then I went to K2 parameters > 'Layout & Views' > 'Layout & view options for Search & Date listings', and made the changes as follows:
But still same, am getting results within k2 contents
Any idea ? thanks,

What do you mean by " But still same, am getting results within k2 contents " ? Do the options work or not for you?

Hello,
what I meant is that the 'live search' from 'k2 tools' module is still looking in the content of the items.
For example when I actually type 'filter' in the search, it will show me all k2 items that have got the word 'filter' in its contents.
I just need the items that have got the word 'filter' in their names to appear.
Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately the search mechanism cannot be changed.
If you are looking for a more advanced filtering/ searching mechanism you have to look for an extension which supports K2 in the JED or getk2.org/extend .
