Frontend editing bug Joomla! 3.3.6 and K2 2.6.8 was created by Rupert Griffiths
I have not been able to get the "close" button to work at all on the frontend editing panel.
I thought it must be a jquery conflict with my template or some other plugin, so I tried a fresh K2 install on a brandnew Joomla install, and still the problem exists.
Please see my test site here: www.roojai-testsite.com/
There are two menu items called "Add K2 item". Please try to use them and see how the close button does not work.
You can log in with test / test
Thanks

Have you installed any other extension or is this is a completely bare install?

Completely bare.
I just took the latest Joomla download file, and installed it using the sample data. Then took the latest downloaded K2 2.6.8 and installed that. And voila!

That version does not show this same problem - seems to work fine.
Is it ready to use?

Yes, there are no issues in this version.
It contains all the latest fixes but the UI might need some retouching.

@Rupert Griffiths
This is the commit that solves the issue:
github.com/joomlaworks/k2/commit/03650f061e02bbd727cd51cce829c12cb4d4642e . If you do not want to work with the development version you can install K2 2.6.8 and just apply the fix.

PErhaps this is less solved than I thought.
I tried this fix on 2.6.9 but found it still does not work. edit forms opened from menu items still do not close properly.
But the Development version of Joomla 3 seems ok. I'll just use that. Roll on the stable version.
