Hi

I have a clickable icon on my page. When a user clicks on it I want to open a K2 article. At the moment I have a menu item that I can call as soon as the image is clicked. Due to room restrictions especially on mobile devices I don't want to create a menu item for this article.
Is there a way I can call the K2 article directly, without having to use the menu item?

Where exactly is that icon?
If that icon is a part of your template, then you should address this issue to the template's developer.

The icons right in the middle of the page. Since I don't have much space for the top menu I would like to link the icons (e.g. "vereine", "Weiterbildung", "Kurse") directly with K2 articles, without linking the articles with menus items.

This is a a template feature and you need to address this issue to the template's developer.
