[SOLVED]Featured items only on frontpage was created by Robin

Hi, is it possible to show featured items only on my Frontpage (like it is possible in Joomla)?
I read a lot of articles but cannot seem to find the answer.

Hi,

Yes, you can create a menu link to K2 categories and set it to show only featured items.

Another troubling feature for featured only items on the homepage is that you must select more than 1 category to be able to change the setting for Show Only Featured Items. This was very annoying trying to find what was causing this.
Same goes for showing only items from a parent category from a menu item with nested categories below it.

just my 2 cents...

Hello Dustin,

Thank you for feedback but you can set the "Show only featured items" setting in the category's params as well. This will eliminate the need to add a second category in the menu item.

I use 2.7.0 version.
I try to set the "show only featured items" and it is not working.
You might know why ???
Actually when i press "save" it doesn't save the setting, so it doesn't work...

Additionally i must tell you that i use the module categories in another part of the site and it works quite fine, only in the menu - categories it doesn't work.

Are you using a single or multi-category menu?
The settings for the first case are located in the category's settings.

I have 2 menus, in one menu i want to display all the items from one category (or multiple categories) and on a second menu i want to display only the featured ones...

Since you are using only one category you need to edit the category's settings instead of the menu item.

If you already have this category mapped into another menu item you can add a dummy or blank category to force different settings.

If you only use this category in THIS menu item, simply change its category settings.

if this category is mapped by iteself to a different menu item too. One for example which shows all items, then you need to add another category in the settings (eg: one of its subcategories) to trick it so it respects the multi category settings.
