Your site was probably hacked. Check to see if there is a file generating these descriptions or if these changes are also present in your database.

Hi,
I had the host run a search of the database
So we unable to find anything resembling the string of text. I just don't know where to look next or how to find out how the code is being generated.
Would an update to K2 work on getting rid of this code?
John

I am not sure John.
It could be a hacked admin account. You could scan your site with Sucuri and you can also look at the /images folder to see if there are .php file where there shouldn't be.

I have RS Firewall install and run daily checks as well as malware scans via the cPanel.
For the admin accounts, we only have 2 and passwords were updated 2 weeks ago. But I will update again to be safe.
I will check the images folder for .php files.
That said, is there a way to remove the code that generates the <meta property="og:description"?

I ran the Securi scan and it showed the malware. Do you know where this type of code is placed?

It could be in millions of places. It could be in any (or even all) php file.
I would restore a backup in your position.

I found some of the code hidden in the plugin - System - Highlight. I was able to remove the code
But when I post the K2 article to Facebook I still get malicious text in the description. But I do not see it in the HTML <head.>
So yea, there is another hacked file. Any idea where to look?
