Yes. Do not uninstall K2, simply install it on top.

Hello I updated it and it worked fine, the only thing it changed when it shows the items in the category lists, is the order, it image of the article and title below, and not it shows title and image below in category listings, how do I change it for it to show the image first?

Did you overrides or did you directly edit core files?
If you edit core template files you need to either reapply these edits or create overrides for these edits (recommended) getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates

I installed it on top of the installed version, I would need to reapply the edits.
