Is there a way to make the rss feed ONLY for REGISTERED users?
The feed works great for the public side but does not work when in a members only category.
Any Ideas?

This can only be done with an extension.

The feeds are generated from Joomla! so you need an extension to alter Joomla!'s default functionality.

Hi Dean,
Here's a possible solution:
1) Copy the RSS feed for each category you want to manipulate (save in text file)
2) Disable each feed using the K2 Category Parameter (Category > Category view options > RSS feed icon = Hide)
3) Use Template override to render the respective category RSS feed if the visitor is Registered (defined by user group)
Here are two posts that can help with determining & displaying content based on user groups:
