Subcategories for front-end editing was created by Kirsten Francois Bredekamp
Hello everyone,

I have quite a few categories in my website where the main categories are Provinces/States and the sub-categories are cities and towns inside that Province/State. When I add a new item from the backend, or when a user adds an item from the frontend then the list is quite long, especially because it displays in a single dropdown.

I was wondering if there was a way that I could have users select a main category ( State/Province ) in one drop-down, and then in a another drop-down the City or town associated with the first selection. If this is not possible the only thing that could still work is to have a search bar within the category drop-down.
The search is available when adding items from the back-end, but not from the front-end.

Please help, I'm desperate!!

Thank you in advance

Kind Regards
Kirsten Francois Bredekamp

By default this is not possible.
I am not sure if this can be solved with a custom admin override.

So you basically need something like this, but for categories, right?

You can contact the developer to see if they are interested in developing this feature.

Hello Filipe,

Did you try contacting Joomreem?
You can look at the profiles or other devs in the forums and email them.
I do not think they will mind.
