I am a newbie when it comes to K2, so please excuse my - maybe stupid - question, but after fiddling around for hours, I cannot find solutions:
I am only referring to a single article view ("item")
- How to change the publishing date format, e.g. Jul 14, 2015. My whole page is in German, so I do not know where K2 gets the English date format from (as all other aspects of K2 are translated)
- I have 5 articles in a category. In that category I switched off "Show Author" and all five article are set to take the category settings. However, the articles do not. I have to go to every single article and switch "author name" off. I have to say, that I did the changes in the category after I published the articles. Can that be the reason that category inputs are not considered by the articles?
- No social buttons are shown, although switched on everywhere
Many thanks in advance

For the date: Is the frontend language set to Deutsch?
The show author setting is also present for items and items in category listsings. Make sure that both these settings are set to 'hide'.
I will need a link to troubleshoot the last issue.

many thanks for your quick reply.
1) Yes, everything is in German besides that K2 date format. I am actually not sure anymore of the language is wrong, as it only gives Jul, Apr, Feb etc, which could be also German. Is there a way to change the formatting into full month to see if it is German or English?
2) I found my error. I changed the settings in the category, but that category inherited settings from another category and I believe this overrides everything.
3) I will send you a PM with login details.
Thanks a lot
Christian

Make sure that this not a template issue by trying the default template for these pages.
As for the date you can use Joomla!'s language overrides.
The strings you need to translate is:
K2_DATE_FORMAT
K2_DATE_FORMAT_LC2
K2_DATE_FORMAT_LC
You can structure your desired format based on this article php.net/manual/en/function.date.php

I cannot, because it is not a live site and I am not posrting here any passwords and admin access.
Furthermore, I have no clue about which file you even talk when changing thoise strings... I am not a programmer :-(

Disabling Author in "Options for Articles in Category List" in a category also results in not showing "Date", although Date is enabled...

This sounds like a template issue. Check your site using a different template. If these issues are not present, then you need to address these issues to the template's developer.
