hello,

We are using jEvents and CCK linkage with K2. There is a problem with redirecting from jEvents component via, designed manually, nice URL like domain.com/categoryname1/catname2/link-name hand made in Joomla menu system.
We also work with jEvents team to find any solution.

When jEvents redirects it redirects to K2 article it uses native linking which not consider assigning specific modules to specific sites for example.
Additionally I would like to use only nice hand-maded manual links.

We haven't lot of articles, about 200 maximum.

Is there any possibility to disable that native linking? Or redirect it as deep as possible, to avoid publishing that native link (domain.com/category-ID/cat-ID-art-ID) nowhere? I know that I can remove the IDs in coniguration, but mainly I need to assign specific modules on specific sites made with K2 articles.

Thank you for any help.

Hi,

Modules are assigned in pages. One page in Joomla! is considered a page from a menu link. So if i got it right, you need to create menu links for your K2 categories ( and/or items ) .

Thank you for your reply,

Thats not my main problem.

As I planned, I would like to show complicated descriptions on manually linked pages, as I havent it a lot, so in that case we would have:

1. writing K2 article
2. create a Joomla menu link
3. assign specific modules. Which are unique in most articles, and should appear only with one article.

So, i don't need internal , native K2 linking, which is not compliant with my linking structure I want, and would be great if that would be possible to natively redirect to proper Joomla menu links every time.

The main problem is JEvents not uses the Joomla manu link, but uses K2 native link, so the linked page looks very not great ;)

If there will be any custom work for end users like pasting links it woul be also acceptable. I have to had K2 there working with Jevents

Thank you

Since this item belongs to a menu item check to see if JEvent can link to a menu item instead of the item.
If that it is not possible you will need to manually paste the link.

thank you for your reply

yes, that is my temporary solution currently, but I would like to have it working automaticly, as copying links to jEvents is uneffective.

To be honest I still haven't fully understood your workflow.
If you manually link these items, you can check JCE editor's linking functionality which offers a UI for linking towards Joomla! menu items.

I thought earlier about jEvents and CCK linkage K2 plugin, but after testing we spotted that jEvents uses native K2 linkking when we have made nice SEF urls.

So when we go through native K2 links there was not possible to show nice-sef-link-assigned modules in joomla linking.
I am assignig specific modules to specific links which are linking K2 articles. And when we use linking from K2 (native) we cant get it working. Additionallyt link was not nice/usefull for end users what we would like to have.

So, if that would be possibility to manually tell K2 which links should use instead of native, automatic linking would be great. We havent lot of articles, about 200.

Thank you
