Make sidebar menu appear on single item view was created by Aristotelio WebAdmin
Hello! I'm building my first website and I've come to love Joomla and k2
I would like to make a small adjustment to the way things work, but I cannot figure out how.
Let's say I have k2Category 1|2|3.>k2Subcategory a|b|c> k2SingleItem i | ii | iii
I want a sidebar navigation to appear when I'm viewing all subcategories from category 2. This works like a charm so far.
I go to module manager, add a k2 tools module at the proper position for my template and then I properly select the options for the thing I want to achieve
But then, when I click to view a single item (let's say item 2|a|ii or any other item) the sidebar menu disappears.
How can I make a sidebar nav menu containing all subcategories from category 2 appear, when I'm viewing a single item?

Is the entire module position not showing in the item or just this one menu?

thank you for your interest in my problem
I think it is the entire module position that is not showing. I added another test module and it disappeared too.
Edit: When the k2 single item is on the menu structure, the module position still shows. Problem is as this is a site for a private school with lots of news items, there will be loads more k2 items than menu positions. adding all these news articles in the menu would be highly impractical. is there any way to make a module position persistent in a k2 single item view that 's not part of the menu?

I think this is a template issue. By default K2 items will inherit the positions from their parent menu item which is generally its category.
If you have mapped the parent category into a menu item and its sidebar modules are not showing inside the item, then make sure that this position is not excluded in your template.
