I'm using K2 and when I cking on the Image tab inside an item, then choosing "browse server", I get a blank page that only shows [ K2 v2.6.9 | Copyright © 2006-2015 JoomlaWorks Ltd. ].
The same thing happens when clicking on the K2 "media manager" from the control pane.
I've read here a previous topic on this issue but that did not help me.
Any help?
Thanks,
Jose

Are you using Joomla! 3.4.3? Have you disabled error reporting?
Can you check the console tab of your browser's developer tools for any errors?

What is causing the modal.js issue? Is this issue present in other views as well?

The issue is present in every K2 view (items, categories). For example, in Items I can upload images using the browser button, but not the browser button. I can use the Jooma Media Manager without problem.
