This is actually not K2's search.
This is com_search which is a core Joomla! extension.

com_search and mod_search are not a part of K2.
K2's search module is the K2 Tools module which uses its own layouts.

what's the use of Search - K2 plugin, isn't it extend search into k2??

Search - K2 plugin is for Joomla!'s default search.
Without this com_search cannot search in K2 items.
