K2 Tools & Smart Search was created by Kelsey Brookes
I'm having some issues with K2 search using mod_k2_tools.
The search results aren't great because they're unweighted with regards to the search-target title/content/tags and because the search is a straight 'or' search.
I.e., if I do a search on "The Guide To Rebranding" on a site I'm building with Smart Search I get two very very good results.
Using K2 Tools, I get almost every page on the site because the search is "or" for every word.
Is there a way of using Smart Search with K2 Tools so I can use K2 Tools to specify the search categories?
Or is there a way of creating a filter map for K2 within Smart Search so I can just use that instead?

There are filtering extensions for K2 available in the JED and KED.
I would however use the Google integration setting since I personally prefer Google's search algorithms.

I know, I just dislike how overblown most of the search modules are on the JED.
The advantage of the K2 search is that its module is simple and fast - the disadvantage is that the search results are a bit ordinary. Combine it with smart search and you have the best of both worlds. I think I'll have to get that built :)
And Google. Decent results, but not for my clients - we're a brand agency and do work for other brand agencies, so being able to maintain complete control over style is important.
Thanks anyway :)

K2 uses mySql full text search, which has stopwords and minor limitations.
As for Google's results you can style it to your liking (a bit too many !important statements though).
The only true limitation is the small image size.

sorry pleaz, I am doing a website that will act as GOOGLE IMAGES. So I have several picture and we can do a search in these images from defined tags on each.
for now I use K2 images and with K2 search, I managed just to do the research on the images but only with a single criterion. When I put two, it finds nothing.
Thank you to tell me how I can get the income GOOGLE IMAGE.

To replicate the behaviour of Google Images, you need an extension which filters through extrafields. You can search in the JED or the KED which offers this functionality. If my memory serves me right, K2 Filter was such an extension.

Sorry I have posted many times, I was desperate.
Thank you for your answer, but speaking of Google Image, I was not referring to the search criteria options to refine it, but rather the possibility to search an image with multiple tags it contains. For example, if I put "white tree" it will show me all images with the two tags "white tree." Sadly for the moment with K2 search, I can not have a return as soon as I put two tags in the search bar. I do not know if I have better explained now ?

In the dev version you are able to search multiple words.
You can backup and install the dev version.
You can get it from here: getk2.org/assets/get/

There are no options, you can simply search using multiple words.

It does not work. I put a tag by recording an image in K2 but when I search this tag, it will turn back any results.

Lefteris who is a Moderator, says that "K2 tags are searchable only when the Joomla! search is used. Just go to the Search - K2 plugin and set it up to search tags. Note that you will have to use mod_search and not mod_k2_tools for that. "
I do not know if I can get the desired result with K2 search ?
