Cannot set "Fetch items from Children Categories" to "No" was created by benner
Hi,
I have a problem with K2 category menu items. When I create a menu item, type "K2 category", and then I select 1 category and I set "Fetch items from children categories" to "No", I press "Save" and then the "Fetch items from children categories" goes back to "Yes". Basically I cannot set it to "No".. it looks like the system does not allow me to do so.
Can someone please help me fix this issue?
Thank you

If only one category is selected, then the category's settings are being used.
You need to edit the category's settings instead.

It is the same setting located in the category's parameters instead.

OK Found it.
To turn off the child categories one needs to select Yes under the Catalog Mode drop down in the K2 category settings.
Open category in question
> Category item layout
> Other layout options
> Catalog Mode = Yes
If you have child categories that inherit from the parents the same features will propagate to the children, so you may need to change that setting if you need to.
Krikor, thanks again for the help.
Hopefully these instructions will show someone else how to do this faster and save you some trouble.

Hello,
I have the same problem. But I change the properties of categories as described.
In addition I use "Inherits parameters from" one category and did here the configuration.
The NO is switching again and again back to YES when click on SAVE.
Any ideas how I can fix it?

Can you send me a couple of screenshots of that menu item's settings?
