Show articles from subcategories (nested categories) was created by sunconcept
Hi Guys,
we want to create a Page like:
Category Products
-- Subcategory 1
---- Product 1
---- Product 2
---- Product ...
-- Subcategory 2
---- Product 1
---- Product 2
---- Product ...
-- Subcategory 3
---- Product 1
---- Product 2
---- Product ...
We dont want to use the link "show articles" at the subcategories. We want to show the articles instead, directly below the headline... Is this possible?
Here's a image of how it should look like: download.sun-concept.de/k2-categories-screenshot.jpg
The only thing I could get so far is:
Category Products
-- Subcategory 1 (with show articles link)
-- Subcategory 2 (with show articles link)
-- Subcategory 3 (with show articles link)
---- Article List (all articles from the above categories)
---- Product 1
---- Product 2
---- Product ...
Greetings
Tobias K

You can create this layout if you use the Latest items from Categories menu item.

Hi Krikor, thanks for the phenomenal fast response! :-)
But I dont know what you mean... are those settings on the menu item "Stangendichtungen"?
I've set the menu item to link to the category "Stangendichtungen" (and to show the subcategories).
What I get is this: download.sun-concept.de/k2-categories-screenshot-2.jpg

You 're welcome :)
This is a K2 category menu type. By default it will show up as you see it.
Create a new menu item and assign it the "Latest Items from Categories" type to create the layout you want.

Thank you so much! I thought I'm blind or something... I cound'nt found this menu item type because of the bad german translation which says "latest items of one or more users" (nothing with categories)... So I havent used this so far...
I'm a big fan of K2 and we're using it on nearly 20 websites... I hope K2 V3 arrives soon with a better interface, batch processing and so on. Keep on doing your hard work.
Thanks Krikor.
Your support is great! ;-)

It works now! ;-) But is there a possibility to sort the articles not after latest created date (I know, its a list of the latest items :D) but after name?
Greetings

Unfortunately no. It only shows latest items.
Another, more custom approach would be to revert to a category layout, override its template and publish K2 Content modules which would display the items you want.
This is a custom layout (component view with numerous modules) but it will offer flexibility.
