Image rotation

I use the K2 image tab to insert an images. When I insert a portrait images, some images automatically rotate 90 degree and some don't.
I don't think it is related to the ratio of the picture because I tried with extreme ration (very long height and short width), that did not rotate. I would like to find out how to prevent the auto rotation.
Any idea please.

I moved the picture to the testing site. Here you go, staging1.leisureclique.com/communication/find-lessons/test.
Thank you.

Are you using any 3rd party K2 Extensions ?

It does not seem to be a common issue (I hope not) so I would not worry too much.
Thanks Krikor.

If I save these images through photoshop (no modification in pictures), then K2 doesn't rotate the images.
I disabled the K2 related third party extension (I had one), has no influence on this issue.
It is a real problem for me because I have the members in my site to download pictures from the frontend, and cannot ask them not to download portrait pictures or go through image editing software.
I cannot imagine what possibly causes this problem.

K2 does not change the orientation of the image you upload. The generated images are also using the same orientation as the original image. This means that the images you upload are already marked with the wrong orientation. You can verify this by viewing the original image: staging1.leisureclique.com/media/k2/items/src/2a14beb1aee2d71c6fecb12f25c690f7.jpg . As you can see the browser renders it in landscape which means that the metadata of this image indicates that it is a landscape image.
To summarize, you need to ensure that your images are set in the correct orientation before uploading them in K2.

Yes exactly, that's the case. Just try to rotate the image in your computer before uploading it to K2. That's why images are corrected when you save them through Photoshop. It writes the correct metadata to the file.
Note, that you can also rotate an already uploaded image using the K2 media manager.
