missing canonical url's from k2 items after upgrade

Hi all,

I'm running K2 2.6.9 and recently updated my site to joomla 3.5.0 but noticed all my K2 items are now missing the canonical url reference. Wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue and what can be done to fix.

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

Hello John,

Joomla!'s canonical links where removed (I think in 2.6.9) since the generated URL was not correct.

Did you use another extension to generate canonical URLs?

Wow I didn't realise that.

Using sh404sef but that extension does not automatically generate canonical url's. Could you recommend something that works well?

I thought it was offering this functionality, although I might be mistaken. Since sh404sef offers a different router than Joomla!, the canonical tags might be off. You should ask the sh404sef devs which extension offers integration with sh404sef as well.

Hi,
had the same issue

I fixed it with this extension www.managecms.com/extensions/canonical-links
Just installed it out of box, everything works just fine for me (and not K2 only, but also it makes canonical for menu items as well - like site.com/?itemId=777)
