Problem with K2 advanced SEF was created by Srdjan
I have a problem with setting K2 item custom prefix in Advanced SEF section.

I want it to be "item" prefix without id in the URL, but then I'm getting 404 error when I try to open some particular item.

For example, SITE_URL/category/item/ITEM_ALIAS

I tried to set some other prefix, "article" and it's working, so I think that the problem is in "item" prefix.

Can someone help me with this?

Are you using 2.7 or a previous DEV build?
Did you click on custom prefix?

Yes, I'm using 2.7 version and I clicked custom prefix button.

Are you using any SEO/SEF extensions or the redirect plugin.
It works as intended in all my sites, but if something is caching the URLs in your site (eg: sh404sef) you will not be able to see the new URL pattern unless you purge that cache.

No, I'm not using any of SEO/SEF/Redirect extensions.

Do you have some test site to set this options exactly like me?

Of course Srdjan, we built this extension :)
The item's URL was changed to /prefix/alias instead of /item/id-alias with no issue.

I used article as you want with no issue.
Can you send me a link to your site?

I don't want "article" as a prefix, I want "item" as a prefix since I thought it's the only way to get rid of item id from the URL, right?

This is a link to the site echotest.realise4.com/

If you want item (which is the default) there is no need to add a prefix.
I will look at your site.

Yes, item is a default prefix, but it looks it's only working when there is a item id in the URL

Tnx

This pattern seems to be working -> echotest.realise4.com/directory/item/brendan-cullen-appliance-repairs

There is catch however.
Since you are not using IDs in your slugs, you might not get 404 errors but if a same item has the same slug the first item that K2 finds will show up. Since there is no way for K2 to differentiate these two items, there is no way to avoid this bahviour?
