I use K2 to store events (date, picture, some text, ...)

Is it possible to order items in category to show just upcoming items (events); no past items (events)

What would save my problem is if K2 had auto move items to different category.

You can use the featured flag and display only featured items in the category. This option is located in the category's settings.
