Menu Item class is active all the time? was created by Ralf
Hi Overthere,
I've been assigned to supporting a J3.5.1 site with K2 2.6.9 . There's a weird thing goin' on and I can't seem to find a solution on the net for it.
One of the main-menu-items which is of type K2-categories including subs, has class "active" all of the time independently wether it's really active or not. Interestingly although when selecting one of the other menu-entries the class active does not change to that item, but stays on the one with the K2 categories. Anybody any idea what's causing this?
When setting up a new menu-item "test" it's working as intended.
Help is much appreciated. Thx a lot in advance :-)

If you are using any sort of caching, the menu's module should never be cached.
In the module's advanced settings set this module not to be cached.

Caching was disabled already for the site as a whole.

This is an issue of the menu module (or an override).
K2 will not enforce any active classes nor will it change the menu's functionality.
Can you try setting the module's (not the site's) caching to 0?

I changed the caching in the module "Main Menu" to "No Caching", cleared "Global Cache" and "Expired Cache" and reloaded the page, but to no avail.
Also checked the folder "Cache" but only an index.html there
Do you have any other idea by chance?

Is it a regular mod_menu or are you using overrides or a different module?

Didn't know for sure therefore I created a new mod_menu, which did the trick it seems. Had recreated the menu before but hadn't guessed that the module itself could cause the prob.
Update:
Eh... by comparision between old and new module settings I just realized that one of the users had changed the "Base Item" from "Current" to some submenu item . Arrrrgh....! Reversed it and now even the original is behaving as intended.
Sorry, for the hassle and thanks for pushing me in the right direction :-)
