I have installed better preview a plugin from NoNumber so users will be able to preview their items before publishing. Since I have cache enabled on my website, the plugin clears all k2 cached files when the user previews the item. I want to change this behavior, so only the cached versions of the previewed is removed.
I am stuck at the second part of the cache filename. How is the hashed string is generated?

The hash is generated by the Joomla core classes. You can get an idea of how this works by looking at libraries/joomla/cache/storage.php file.
