Hello,

Recently we have developed Joomla website and we have some related items for every item and we have some categories also.

Now, we want to show some related items in multiple categories.

Ex: Item 1, Item 2, Item 3
Categories: Cat 1, Cat2, Cat3

While adding Item 1 & 3 in Cat 1 and Item 2 in Cat2 then when we click Item 1 then under Related Items we can see Item 3 because both are same category. Now we would like to select Item 1 for Cat2 to another category which is Cat2, now if we click Item2 then Item1 should also show under Related Items.

Is this possible how I explained? Because we already purchased one plugin which is for Multiple Category but unable to get the Items in Multiple Categories under Related Items.

Below is the plugin and attached are the screenshots:
getk2.org/extend/extensions/1187-inceptive-multiple-categories-for-k2

Screenshots:
workswellindia.com/clients/projects/boxcandle/images/cat1.jpg (Assigned 2 Items for Category one, so they are showing under Related items)
workswellindia.com/clients/projects/boxcandle/images/cat2.jpg (Assigned 2 Items for Category two, so they are showing under Related items)

Now in below screenshot we assigned all 4items (for both Category 1 & 2), now all 4 items should show under 2 categories but they are not coming up. Only One category items are coming under related items.

It means any item we select in Multiple categories then it should show under Related Items.

Thanks,
Santosh

Hello Santosh,

The related items are based on their common tags. Items on the same category, content-wise tend to have more common tags. This is why you get items based on the same category.

In order to change the functionality you either need a 3rd party extension, or you can publish a K2 Content module in the item and based on the menu item (different module each time) assign which categories you want the module to pull items from.
