move to other provider was created by paul vos
I want to move our website to another provider. I can easily install Joomla there from scratch.. But how do I transfer K2 (all the items, cats, extrafields etc).

Is it possible to install K2 from scratch as well, and then use PHPmyAdmin to export the k2 tables and import them to the new location?

Thanks

Hey Paul, there is a super simple way to move your Joomla site. It is called Akeeba backup and there is a free version that will do everything you need. I have used it for many years and it makes bundling up Joomla sites and restoring them to other locations a snap and is a great tool to keep secure backups as well. The paid version of course has a ton more features and highly recommended.

Akeeba Backup will save you a lot of hassle. If you don not know your way around a console definetely use it.
