Editing TAG.php was created by Zed
Hi!
i'm trying to edit the tag.php file inside my own template, but its not working. the file inside the "default" folder works fine, but the one in my custom folder (where i have custom item.php, category_item.php, etc...) doesn seem to be working.
does anyone have a clue about this?
tks!
Zed

Hello,

You need a menu item (towards a tag) in order to show this template.

Hi Krikor, tks for the reply.
well since the tags are dinamically given by the admin, its impossible to follow that and create a menu for each tag (if i understood correctly your suggestion);
it's not possible to overwrite this page the away its done with item.php, category.php...?
if i make changes to the tag.php in the "default" folder they show up online, but in my own tag.php in my own folder no... its kind of strange given the openness of K2
maybe i'll give a specifi class to the menu and change the page trough CSS, menu by menu...

Which is the common denominator?
Eg: the category, a menu item? You can do it in your overrides as well.

well i was thinking of giving the menu a class, and then using that class in the CSS to override the tag.php page styling...at least, since i can edit the tag.php but only the default one and i have diferent templates, calling for tag listings...

what can i do in my tag.php override?
cheers!

Hello Zed,

If you are using a dedicated menu item, then you can also choose the template you want to use from the menu item's parameters.
This means that you can change the php file the way you want.

If you are using another menu item item you can get it's info (eg: stackoverflow.com/questions/19005478/joomla-3-1-get-active-menu-item-url ) and build an if/ else statement in the default template.
