Unable to use template for k2 items was created by Tom Abbott
I have a website that uses 2 templates for different parts of the site.

Here you can see a category list: www.pglleics.org.uk/website/lodge-ra-news

If you click any of the items you will notice the template changes to one with a different header. How can I force the articles to show in the same template?

Trying to change "template" via the category view doesn't work as it only has the option "use default" leading me to think this is for K2 templates, not joomla ones?

Many thanks!

Hello,

This is not really a K2 issue, K2 only renders the content, I think you need to address this issue to the template's developers.
Finally you are correct, the template setting in the category view refers to K2's template not the site's (J!'s) template.

The issue is that K2 doesn't allow you to choose what template it uses - it's forcing default template no matter what - that is a decision made by k2, not the template developer?

K2 does not control Joomla!'s template.
It uses its own templates and subtemplates.
Joomla!'s templates are controlled through menu items, this means that you either have to map these items into menu items or their category in order to have different Joomla! templates.
