Can't Edit Items in Front End with K2 Master Update

Can't Edit Items in Front End with K2 Master Update was created by Justin
It looks like the front-end edit functionality breaks with the latest version of K2 (the 2.8.1 K2-Master.zip from GitHub). When the edit window tries to load it shows the following error:

Call to undefined method K2ControllerItem::_addPath()
