I've just installed a new Joomla Bamboo template and was hoping to create a simple Home and About Us nav menu links. I created the Categories and Items in K2. The Home item is the Featured item on my home menu. Nothing is showing on the main page? Should I use K2 for navigational menu content or the normal Joomla system and use K2 only for blogs?

Do you mean the featured articles? If yes you need to change this menu item to a K2 Categories menu item.
Remember, K2 is a replacement of the core article system, so you need to change your menu items.
