Hi,
The task is to have a user from the front end add their images to the materials. How can I make the user drag and drop add their images from the frontend?

Are you using JCE as your Joomla WYSIWYG editor? If so, it should support drag and drop already.

I am using JCE. You understood me correctly, I want users with frontend to insert their images by dragging and dropping?

Make sure that frontend editing permissions in JCE allow uploading images then. This is a JCE issue really, it's not K2 related.
