Creating default object from empty value was created by Sean
With the root, I updated K2 which removed the error message but disabled the gallery switcher on the 'Latest Projects' the old version at /joomla/ is throwing an error message 'Creating default object from empty value'

$results = $dispatcher->trigger('onBeforeDisplay', array(&$item, &$params, $limitstart));
//Line 363 below
$item->event->BeforeDisplay = trim(implode("\n", $results));
Any ideas?

Does the error occur in a K2 file or elsewhere? You didn't mention the exact file...

It shows up on the webpage frontend under 'our services' and again down in the footer

You have a really old K2 version. You should consider upgrading to the latest K2 v2.10.3 as soon as possible.

I installed the new module on (website removed) site and it corrected the issue but now the gallery buttons don't work under 'latest projects' Shower doors / glass handrails / windows / Doors / Commercial / They are supposed to sort the images when clicked

There's a chance whoever built your site did not work on template overrides and directly edited core K2 template files. As such, when you updated, these changes were lost. Or you use some 3rd party extension for these sorting filters and it's not compatible with K2 latest for some reason.
