Custom SEF URLs bug was created by Udi Tiran
hi
i have created a parent category (called "parent") and a sub category (called "sub") and created a menu item to the parent category. the url is: /parent
problem starts when i enable custom SEF settings for K2 URLs.
using default settings, the link to the sub category is: parent/parent/sub
the link is working but the parent category name is duplicated.
if i change the settings of custom SEF and i add prefix for category URL "content"
the link becomes /parent/content/parent/sub - the parent name is duplicated again and i get a 404 error...
if i change the settings of Use the category ID in the URL you yes - the url becomes /parent/content/2-sub
now the link is working and the duplicated parent category is removed

this is a major issue as the also affects existing websites - sub categories links do not work and if i change the settings - the urls are changed...

thank you

before posting, i tested the issue on a clean installation of Joomla and k2

Please use the router.php file from K2 v2.10.2. Get it from jmp.sh/CZ2oMKG and replace the file inside /components/com_k2/. This will be addressed in K2 v2.10.4 (out really soon) with the option of v1 & v2 URL routers (v1 being the "old" one).

This is absolutely RIDICULOUS. You change the way URLs are generated and break an entire site without a mention of it?

I tried installing the old router, but the got an error: get() null.

I have resorted to installing 2.10.2 over the top of the site and all seems to be working, now. PLEASE TEST before uploading your versions!

You probably replaced the wrong file. I would recommend 2.10.3 with the 2.10.2 router.php file...

In any case, mea culpa.
