Can't see who is editing an article was created by Steven Trooster
When someone is editing an article, the article is locked. Which is great, so that two people can't edit at the same time. However, though in the admin you see a lock-icon next to the title, you can't hover over with your mouse to see who is editing the article or if the editor didn't close the article correctly. In older versions of K2 as well with Joomla articles and other components you can view who en when some has been editing the article. Please have this feature restored.

Are you referring to some indicator only (e.g. hover over the lock and get a "The item is currently being edited by user X" message) or the option to also take control of the item's editing (e.g. by clicking on the lock icon)?

In other words, make it informative only (possibly boring) or practical?

Make it informative, so one knows who has locked the article and when. On our site we have multiple editors in chief who have to send a message to each other asking who is currently editing the article. This is unpractical. Follow the same ui Joomla articles has, and I'm happy. Though your suggestion here, showing who is the current editor, is nice as well. :-)
Take over would be the same as clicking on the lock in Joomla articles ?

Using "inline" messages makes it more practical I guess as you can instantly see who edits what. A fixed link (instead of clicking the lock icon which "assumes" some behaviour) is also probably better.
